Replacing Your Old Heat Pump

What’s Normal?
About Defrost Cycles
When outdoor temperatures drop, heat pumps enter a ‘defrost’ cycle to thaw the outdoor unit.
- Lasts around 5 minutes.
- Heat output pauses temporarily.
- May cause a flashing LED and subtle popping or gassing noises.
This is normal and not a fault. Once complete, your unit resumes heating.
